Self-care inspired by the Ayurvedic tradition

Ginger root tea, according to Ayurvedic tradition, is a wonderful strengthening tonic during the winter. It's worth the time and energy of using fresh ginger root - it has very different properties than dried.

To prepare: Use about an inch of fresh (organic) ginger root - grated, chopped or blended; added to about 4 cups of water. Adjust the amount of ginger to taste. Bring to a boil. Simmer 5 minutes. Strain. Add raw organic honey to taste. Pour into a heated thermos. Sip throughout the day. This lovely warming drink is very nourishing.
